Governor Recruitment

Would you like to join others interested in the education of young people?
Would you like to help shape the future of the next generation?
Would you like to be more involved in supporting your local school?
Are you a good questioner? A good listener?
Do you have skills that can make a difference?
If you’ve answered yes to ANY of these, Netherthorpe Academy would love to chat; please can you contact Rachel Swann, Chair of the Governors, on 07793 846363 or Chair@netherthorpe.derbyshire.sch.uk

Netherthorpe is part of the Cavendish Learning Trust and has an active Academy Improvement Board (AIB); there are some vacancies for Governors on that Board, to work with parents and staff. In particular, we would very much welcome people with skills and interest in personal development, leadership and management and safeguarding; experience in these specific areas isn't obligatory and no previous experience as a governor is necessary.
The commitment involved is usually one evening a term for a couple of hours for the actual meetings and then, ideally, a few hours during the school day once a term. The Board is inclusive and especially welcomes applications from those who are good questioners and listeners. The role is an important one for the success of the students and the school and can make a real difference; it's one of the most important and satisfying roles anyone can undertake and we'd love to hear from people representative of the whole school.
If you're interested in either registering an interest, applying for the role or would like a chat, please contact me, details above. Also if you know someone who would be interested, please pass on my details to them
We look forward to hearing from you.

Chair – Netherthorpe AIB
