Email home 12th May 2020

Dear Parent/Carer,

I hope this email finds you and your families well.

I am sure that you heard the announcement that schools will start a partial re-opening from 1st June.

Please see the link below that will take you to the official Government website with the guidance that has been produced for parents:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/closure-of-educational-settings-information-for-parents-and-carers

As the guidance states, secondary schools will only open for some face-to-face contact to support remote learning for Year 10 and Year 12.  This does not mean that all of the students in these year groups will return to normal lessons.

The school’s leadership team will be meeting this week to complete the following tasks:

  • Review the guidance in relation to Year 10 and Year 12, to determine what the provision will look like
  • Consider the impact that the decision will have on Years 7, 8 and 9 and what we can do to support these year groups
  • Review all of the events that have been planned between now and the end of the academic year

There are a large number of factors to consider, so we would appreciate your patience in this matter as we have to discuss the implications with ranges/groups of staff to ensure that we are able to operate in line with the Government Guidance.

If you have any specific issues or concerns once you have read the guidance, please do not hesitate to contact the school reception.

Best wishes

Dave
